Hoops on Mission, a nonprofit organization, inspires youths with basketball.
We are dedicated to making a difference through the power of the game and role models. HOM offers a safe environment that is not only a place for children to learn about sports but also a place to be inspired, empowered and equipped to handle situations on and off the court.
HOM proudly offers the following:
- School Mentoring
- Mental Health Counselling with a registered Master Social Worker
- Community Outreach
- Travel Basketball (For fifth-, seventh-, eighth-, ninth- and 10th-graders)
- Sports camps for basketball, football, and soccer
- Boys and girls welcomed and encouraged to participate
At Hoops on Mission, we promote sportsmanship, discipline, character, and respect while meaningfully impacting the lives of children most at risk in our community. We are the place to play. Children who play together can learn to live together.
Every day is a Mission!
Travel and play competitive basketball?
We are offering this area’s youths an experience of a lifetime that could open doors for them in the future.
In addition to honing their basketball skills, youths learn about character, commitment, teamwork, communication, self-discipline and how to learn from mistakes.
There are currently five Hoops on Mission teams that travel all over Florida to compete against the best of the best in their age group - fifth through 10th grade.
Participants in our travel teams have been recruited for basketball at the college level, which is no small feat.
“We started Hoops On Mission travel basketball teams because I saw a need for Gospel-centered teams with a purpose of building true community with families and youth,” says Dwayne Jackson, HOM founder. “We've won championships, but the true glory happens at practice where we talk about Jesus and challenge youth to live on Mission!”
